WPPI Energy provides incentive funding to member utilities to support the purchase of hybrid vehicles for conversion to plug-in hybrid-electric vehicles (PHEVs) and for the purchase of all-electric, neighborhood electric vehicles (NEVs).
In the past year, four WPPI Energy members have purchased and converted five hybrids into PHEVs. In addition, Plymouth Utilities has added a PHEV utility truck to its fleet. WPPI Energy members with PHEVs include Columbus, Plymouth, Stoughton, Sturgeon Bay and Waupun.
To date, WPPI Energy incentives have helped offset the cost of purchasing NEVs in these 16 member utilities,
where a total of 18 NEVs are being used for routine utility business:
